An exclusive flight in the lagoon sky

Venice unfolds from above.

Not a postcard, but the moment when water, stone and light become a single landscape. Yours.

From Nicelli · I-SIMJ reserved · 1 to 4 guests

The departure

From Nicelli, towards wonder.

You leave from the Lido, from one of the most captivating airports in Europe. Then the lagoon opens beneath the wings and Venice changes scale.

On board

Four seats. One whole horizon.

The I-SIMJ is reserved for your group. A compact cabin, red and white above the water, the city beyond every window.

The memory

The city stays the same. The memory does not.

What matters comes after take-off, when the lagoon begins to tell its own story and Venice becomes, for a moment, yours alone.

One city, another sky

The most storied city in the world still keeps one point of view to itself.

From Nicelli you rise in moments above the weave of the lagoon. There are no shared seats: the I-SIMJ is reserved for your group alone, and Venice becomes something intimate, suspended between water and sky.

The experience

First you leave the ground. Then Venice takes shape.

Everything begins at Nicelli: your pilot’s welcome, the briefing beside the I-SIMJ, the taxi. Then Venice takes shape beneath the wings; on your return, a short debrief accompanies the final view of the lagoon.

The landscape

Not an itinerary to tick off. A city to rediscover.

Each duration opens a different story: the shorter flights meet the heart of the city, the longer ones widen the view towards the islands and the horizon. The exact route is always confirmed according to the conditions of the day.

  1. The city of stone

Bell towers, domes and quaysides stop being separate details and become the whole drawing of Venice.

  2. The weave of water

Canals, mooring poles and currents reveal the invisible geography that holds the city and the lagoon together.

  3. The islands

Each duration opens a different story among inhabited islands, silent shores and suspended landscapes.

  4. The horizon

Towards the Lido, water and sky meet along a line you can never quite see this way from the ground.

The aircraft

I-SIMJ. Amphibious elegance from another era.

The I-SIMJ is an amphibious aircraft in red and white livery, compact in its proportions and made for the journey. It is the heir to the age when seaplanes stitched together coasts, islands and cities, making water not a boundary but a place to set out from.

«È una cosa divina. Non penso che a volare ancora.»

How it works

From availability to take-off.

  1. Choose the flight and the date

Compare the experiences of about 40 minutes, about 50 minutes or about 1 hour and 15 minutes, with actual flights of about 12 minutes, about 20 minutes or about 40 minutes, and check availability in the calendar.

  2. Tell us who is flying

Enter the details of the lead guest and of one to four passengers. The price shown is always the total for the whole aircraft.

  3. Complete the request

Send the request and receive at once the code you will use to follow its status.

  4. Wait for confirmation

The flight becomes final after operational confirmation, which takes account of weather, aircraft and crew.

Frequently asked questions

Before you step aboard.

What makes this flight unique?

The route: a path authorised specifically for this flight, designed to bring you as close as possible to the heart of Venice. On board the experience stays exclusive — the aircraft is reserved for your group — departing from the historic Giovanni Nicelli Airport on the Lido.

How much does it cost and what does the booking include?

Venice Essential: Experience duration: ~40 minutes · actual flight time: ~12 minutes; price € 400; Venice Classic: Experience duration: ~50 minutes · actual flight time: ~20 minutes; price € 500; Venice Extended: Experience duration: ~1 hour and 15 minutes · actual flight time: ~40 minutes; price € 900. Each amount is the proposed total for the whole aircraft, from one to four passengers, with 10% VAT included.

Where does the flight depart from?

The flight departs from Giovanni Nicelli Airport in Venice Lido. The I-SIMJ is an amphibian: in its current configuration it takes off from and returns to the airport runway.

Is a water landing in the Venetian lagoon included?

Not yet: it is the next chapter, in preparation. We are working so that one day the experience may include the water as well, but today a water landing is neither bookable nor included. Any news will be announced only after the necessary authorisations and operational checks.

Which places can be seen during the flight?

Each duration draws a different picture of the city and the lagoon: the shorter flights stay close to the heart of Venice, the longer ones widen the view progressively towards the islands and the horizon. Exact points, sequence and visibility are always subject to operational confirmation.

In which language is the experience conducted?

In Italian and in English. Welcome, briefing and communications on board are available in both languages.

How do I pay for a bespoke flight?

No payment is due when the request is sent. After accepting the quote, you receive the account details to pay the deposit directly to AELIA by instant bank transfer within forty-eight hours. Funds do not pass through the website, and payment remains separate from the operator’s operational confirmation.

What happens if the flight cannot go ahead?

If the flight cannot depart because of weather or for a cause attributable to the carrier, you may choose between rescheduling and a full refund, including the deposit, within seven days. If the customer withdraws, the full deposit is retained and any balance is returned, under the Booking terms.

Can I request a longer flight or an air taxi?

Yes. Beyond the three bookable experiences, you can configure a fixed-price A → A scenic flight or an A → B air taxi. Routes between Venice Lido and Portorož, Mali Lošinj, Fano or Pula have an online estimate for one way and round trip; you can request a personal quotation from the operator for another route.

Who decides the route and the flight conditions?

Operational decisions rest with the flight operator. Altitude, route and the conduct of the flight are determined in compliance with the applicable rules and the conditions of the day.

Venice as never seen

The city stays the same. The memory does not.

Choose how much time to give the sky and reserve the whole I-SIMJ, up to four guests, departing from Giovanni Nicelli Airport on the Lido.

Check availability

The flight requires operational confirmation; no water landing in the lagoon is currently offered.
